Arti & Greg

Let me begin by saying how grateful I am to get to attend so many unique, and incredibly personal wedding ceremonies. Even when they’re following traditions that have been passed down for generations, our clients are so creative. This wedding was no exception; Arti and Greg’s wedding was a traditionally Indian days-long event that was not only beautiful and opulent and special, but also one of the happiest affairs I’ve attended.

The celebration weekend started at Arti’s house on Thursday, where the family gathered for the Ganesh Puja and Piti ceremonies, and later, the women were given the traditional mendhi art on their hands and arms. And it gets better – after that, there was a big bonfire and s’mores! The fire was enchanting, and judging by the faces of the kids gathered around with marshmallows on sticks, the sugar rush was pretty sweet, too. On Friday, Arti and Greg and their family and friends gathered for the Grah Santak early in the day; the evening brought the festivities to the Grand Hyatt Buckhead for a very cool Indian street-food themed dinner and the joyful dancing of the Garba. It was great to see their guests, many of whom had never attended a wedding like this before, jump in so enthusiastically to the rituals of the evening. Instant icebreaking! Their photographer, Derek Wintermute, did a terrific job keeping up with all the bouncing and laughing.

Back at the Hyatt the next day, Arti’s colorful, sparkling garments were the crown jewel of Nadira Merali of Envi Event Planning perfect coordinating. Greg made his entrance his very own, opting for a classic car arrival, where he led their guests into the ceremony – and to a grin-inducing King of Pops surprise. The pinnacle of the weekend, the joining of the bride and groom, was filled with hallowed rituals and lots of giggles and smiles. It was a pleasure watching two people who seemed both enamored of each other, and of their life together, taking the steps that would link them, arm-in-arm, forever. Arti and Greg, your wedding was such a jubilant treat; thank you so much for trusting us with your memories! We wish you the greatest joys and the happiest of times together – congratulations!
